it was the YESS® apple, then came the YESS®
kiwifruit and now the time has come for the YESS®
avocado to hit the market!!!
YESS® brand is a fresh produce concept that has
been developed in partnership with the Freshmax Group
and Progressive Enterprises. The YESS® brand signifies
fruit of premium quality and premium flavour, not just
your average fruit but something specially created for
the consumer. You can find YESS® products on display
in prime position - in the front row of Foodtown and
Woolworths stores throughout New Zealand.
Launching a new product in the YESS®
category is not something that happens overnight. In
fact, perfecting the concept of the YESS® avocado
has taken over a year, so we are now very proud to finally
see YESS® avocados on sale in supermarket shelves.
Damien Gibson at Freshmax has headed
the technical side of the both the YESS® Kiwifruit
and Avocado projects. His knowledge and experience with
fruit flavour and firmness measurements, together wih
fruit ripening have been instrumental in getting the
YESS® avocado project off the ground.
Two YESS® avocado prepacks are
being trialled in the initial stages of the project
- a prepack with a single avocado and a prepack with
three avocados.
This single pack contains a ‘meal’ sized
avocado that is either ready to eat now, or in a few
days time. Being packed into a single punnet means that
the YESS® avocado is well protected from the bruising
and squeezing that invaribly takes place in stores as
consumers attempt to choose their perfect avocado. The
single punnet also makes a perfect container for storing
half a ripe avocado in the fridge.
The three packs contain three smaller 'snack' sized
fruit, in varying stages of ripeness.
